Breaking: Arsenal sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for club record £56m

Arsenal have signed Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund in a club record £56m deal.

The Gunners had two bids for the 28-year-old rejected by Dortmund before agreeing a fee that eclipses the £46.5m July purchase of Alexandre Lacazette.

Dortmund would only sell after finding a replacement, with Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi to join on loan.
Arsenal said the 2015 African Footballer of the Year had joined on "a long-term contract".

Elections: Don’t vote for politicians above 60 years – Catholic Bishop Most Revd Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Anambra State in his statement which described politicians above 60 as “burden on the growth and development of the country”, advised Nigerians not to vote of politicians above 60. Police arrest man, woman for hijacking N2.7m beer in Ogun Member of the robbery gang, Saheed Omotosho, and the receiver of the stolen beer, Mrs. Adijat Azeez, were arrested Two suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command, following the hijacking of a truck-load of lager beer worth N2,714,000, on the highway. It was gathered that the the truck-load of beer coming from Ilesa and headed towards Iragbiji in Osun, which eventually got stolen by gun-wielding robbers,was recovered at Ode-Remo in Ogun State.
